$100 million, 128,100-SF treatment facility was designed to be the largest treatment system for contaminated groundwater to date. At completion, it will pump contaminated water from the ground and remove several chemical and radioactive contaminants.
Scope includes the mechanical and electrical fit-out of four 2,400-SF injection and extraction buildings, construction and fit-out of a 17,500-SF pre-engineered metal building containing radiological water treatment equipment, construction and fit-out of a 35,000-SF pre-engineered metal building containing biological/chemical water treatment equipment, offices and QA/QC lab and the construction of a 66,000-SF exterior equipment pad and associated bio-process equipment. The contract also included the installation of $30 million of owner-furnished process equipment and start-up and commissioning of the entire facility. The Bio Process building (289T) is a clear span LEED Gold, pre-engineered metal building. The RAD building (289 TA) is a clear span, LEED Guiding Principles, pre-engineered metal building.
