Our operations in Hungary started 100 years later, 1987 when Kelet-Nyugat Ingatlanfejlesztő Rt. was established. In 1995 we became Skanska Hungary.
Timeline
1887 Aktiebolaget Skanska Cementgjuteriet established in Sweden.
1987 Kelet-Nyugat Ingatlanfejlesztő Rt. company was founded.
1991 East-West Business Center - the first iconic office building in Budapest - was delivered.
1995 Kelet-Nyugat Ingatlanfejlesztő Rt. changes its name to Skanska Hungary.
2001 The internationally awarded West End Business Center was built.
2004 Our 3rd delivered project in Hungary, Science Park, was paving the way forward to technology.
2006 Light Corner, Skanska Hungary 4th office project, was commissioned.
2010 Looking at energy efficiency from a new perspective, the Népliget Center office building was delivered.
2012 Green House office complex was built, offering one of the best placemakings in an office project.
2016 Nordic Light was delivered, enlightening the Vaci Road, Budapest's office corridor, with its innovative lamellas façade.
2017 Skanska celebrated 30 years of presence in Hungary, being the first market opened by Skanska in CEE. In this period, we delivered around 180,000 sqm of commercial space.
2018 Mill Park was built. Designed with human well-being in mind, Mill Park offers its tenants a beautiful 5,500-square-foot multi-functional courtyard.
2020 Nordic Light Trio, the third and final phase of the Nordic Light Office complex was handed over. The project achieved LEED Gold and Acces4you Gold Certifications. The construction of H2Offices, one of the company's most impressive projects in Budapest, designed with lots of attention to environmental challenges and the needs of the people working inside, started.
2021 H2Offices project received WELL v2 Core & Shell pre-certification. Nordic Light Trio, Skanska’s development in the heart of the Váci office hub is the first office building for Skanska in Hungary that was granted the demanding WELL v1 Core & Shell Gold certification.
2022 Skanska’s HQ office in Hungary, located in the Nordic Light office complex, has received the WELL Health & Safety Rating certification. This prestigious certification is awarded to office spaces with the highest safety parameters, reducing the risk of infection and enabling the creation of a healthy and safe working environment.
2023 The development of the first phase of H2Offices has been completed. The project achieved LEED Platinum Certification with the highest score in Hungary and was sold to ERSTE Open-Ended Real Estate Investment Fund, represented by ERSTE Alapkezelő Zrt. This is the buyer`s third acquisition from Skanska Hungary, following the acquiring Nordic Light in 2016 and Mill Park in 2018.
2024 Skanska starts a collaboration with the social impact company, Access4you, with the aim of achieving the highest qualification of access4you® certification in its buildings.
